Trust Arnold Kabano

Kabano is an associate at Bytelex advocates, currently stationed in Rwanda. He brings a foreign perspective to the team with his understanding of both Ugandan and Rwandan law. He uses this diverse background to provide legal advice that exceeds borders and takes into account the regional legal status quo in the tech start up space. Kabano’s passion for helping others is what drives his legal career.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere university school of law and a Diploma in Legal practice from the law development centre in Uganda.

  • Engaged by multinational Chemical technology company to advise on and prepare relevant legal documents for its negotiations with foreign chemical suppliers and expansion into the Asian and European chemical engineering Markets.
  • Engaged by Zembo Ltd to develop and prepare a standardized battery hire contract for the batteries to be used in the first electric motorcycles in Uganda.
  • Overseeing the training and development of multiple young lawyers under the 250startup incubation program created by the ICT chamber of Rwanda in collaboration with JICA.
  • Reviewing legal documents for ten different startups on behalf of JICA and providing legal advice necessary for their development in the Rwanda ecosystem
  • Advising the hunger project Uganda on their project for the drilling and construction of 11 boreholes and a solar powered production well in Nwoya District in Northern Uganda as well as preparing the relevant contracts for the project.
  • Carrying out a legal audit of a tech start up in Uganda and advising them on their legal current legal set up vis a vis the regulatory company obligations in Uganda.
